Welcome, and thank you for purchasing RVAltCtrl. It's built to keep you in control of your RV even when the built-in display gives up, and to add many awesome capabilities your RV never had in the first place.
This page will walk you through getting set up. Once you're up and running, the rest of the docs cover the other features of your new RVAltCtrl device, each with a video and a written guide.
If you prefer to read these pages in light mode or dark mode, there's a theme switch in the upper right corner of this web page. RVAltCtrl's own pages can switch between light mode and dark mode too, so once you are all setup, in Settings → Display and Units, under the Appearance section.
1 Installing Your Device
We don't have installation instructions here yet. Installation videos and a full written guide are coming soon.
2 Getting Set Up on Your Network
This connects RVAltCtrl to your RV's WiFi, so it's reachable from your phone, tablet, or laptop without switching networks, and so features like alerts/notifications, remote access, and sensor data on your Smartwatch can work.
See Getting RVAltCtrl on your Network for Quick Steps, screenshots, and videos. This isn't required for Emergency Controls, RVAltCtrl's always-free baseline, but it's highly recommended for everything else.
3 Matching RVAltCtrl to Your RV Model
This tells RVAltCtrl how to talk to your RV's systems, lights, climate, tanks, and everything else the device controls. It's a one-time step, once it's set, you won't need to come back to it.

4 Using the Portal
Once your device is online, the RVAltCtrl Portal at my.RVAltCtrl.com becomes the easiest way to reach it, whether you're standing right at the RV or checking in from across the country. From there you can see whether it's online, connect locally or remotely, check for firmware updates, and browse available feature upgrades.
