Emergency Controls

Out of the box, before you've purchased any features, RVAltCtrl gives you access to a core set of controls: the air conditioners, inverter, and water pump. This is Emergency Controls mode, RVAltCtrl's built-in, always-free baseline that keeps essential RV controls available even if your RV's factory display becomes unavailable. While it's active, the Home page shows an Emergency Controls are active notice.

What's Available in Emergency Controls Mode

While connected to RVAltCtrl's own web interface, on the Home page, the Water Pump and Inverter switches are available; every other switch shows a lock icon instead.

On the Climate tab, you also have full control of the air conditioning systems, you can turn them on and adjust their settings.

Tapping any lock icon shows more information about what unlocking it requires.

Unlocking the Full Set of Controls

Purchasing any available feature upgrade takes the device out of Emergency Controls mode and unlocks the full set of RV controls, along with whichever feature you purchased.

While connected to RVAltCtrl's own web interface, visit Settings → Features to see which features are currently enabled on this device, and to review what's available.

Tap Buy features & view full purchase history to open the RVAltCtrl Portal, where purchasing actually happens. The portal has two relevant tabs at the bottom of the page: Buy Features lists everything available to purchase, and My Features shows what you've already purchased and lets you manage subscriptions. Purchasing is quick and handled securely through Stripe.

Once a purchase completes, if RVAltCtrl is online, it receives the new feature automatically and becomes available right away.
